As a volunteer for Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry and for all volunteer-related events and activities, you do hereby discharge Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry, the event site, their management, officers, board members, employees, members, sponsors, volunteers, representatives and their successors, and all cooperating businesses and organizations, from all claims of damages, demands, actions, and causes whatsoever in any manner arising from or growing out of your participation in a Help for the Hurting In. dba Helping Hands Pantry activity, event, or fundraiser.
As a volunteer, you agree to indemnify and hold Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry harmless for all fines, penalties, fees, and expenses incurred as a result of or related to any breach of the contractual obligation to the participant.
By completing and submitting a volunteer form of any type, including, but not limited to, electronic volunteer check-in/check-out forms, paper forms, or communications via text, phone, or email either directly or through a volunteer site to Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry, or by accepting any volunteer assignment from Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry you understand and agree to the following:
- I will conduct all volunteer activities with high standards, professionalism, and good taste, and will do nothing to cause detriment to the reputation or goodwill of Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry, its employees, officers, and directors.
- Any contributions to the Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry that I receive, including gift-in-kind and any contributions that I make, will be sent to Help for the Hurting In. dba Helping Hands Pantry no later than two hours following the conclusion of the activity. All cash contributions will be paid in United States dollars; checks or money orders will be made payable to “Helping Hands Pantry” and sent to: Helping Hands Pantry, PO BOX 1224, Redlands CA 92373-0401 or be deposited in the drop safe with a witness present. No contributions will be removed from Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry property or diverted in any way.
- If Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry determines, at its sole discretion, that the fundraiser or other activities could injure the goodwill or reputation of Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry, Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry, it may terminate this Agreement immediately. Upon the expiration or sooner termination of fundraiser or volunteer activity, I shall discontinue using the Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry name and logo and all materials that reference the fundraiser or volunteer activity.
- I understand that I am responsible for my health and safety while I am at Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry and that I am not covered by any worker’s compensation or other policy provided by Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry while I am participating in any activity with or at any Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry event or location.
- I understand that I am not to take anything from any Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry event, location, or facility without the express written permission of the Executive Director or the Governing Board of Directors.
- I understand that all locations and property of Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry are smoke-free, and I agree not to smoke while on the property.
- I understand that machinery and equipment is used at Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry and I will not do anything that could cause injury to myself or another while around or operating any equipment or in any circumstance. This includes the wearing of headphones or playing loud music or anything that could be distracting.
- I understand that I am not to use my phone or tablet while volunteering, including, but not limited to, playing games, texting, email, etc.
- I understand that I am not to be under the influence of any substance while on the property or volunteering for Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry, with the exception of those legally prescribed by a licensed medical professional. In the case that my prescription could affect my performance while at Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry, I will inform the management of the situation before starting my volunteering.
- I agree to take a drug test on demand any time it is requested by a representative of Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry.
- I understand that if I need to have my hours verified that it will only be done via the third-party verification process where I keep track of my own hours, log in and log out on the computer system at Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry, provide and completely fill out all necessary paperwork, being sure to include my email on the paperwork, and depositing my paperwork in the lock box provided at Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry that is next to the computer where I check in. I will turn in this paperwork at least three days prior to when I need it returned (seven days if I need the original/hard copy).
- I understand that no one at the office/warehouse location will fill out, sign, or provide any verification of my service hours and this will only be done by the process outlined above.
- I understand that if I have ever had a case open or pending or any past cases, no matter what the outcome or if they were as a minor, that involve drugs, violence, stalking, or where the alleged victim/victims are children, the elderly, or the disabled in any manner, then I need to inform Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry of this and wait for their response before starting.
- I declare the information provided by me in this Application and all forms of communication with Help for the Hurting Inc. dba Helping Hands Pantry is true, correct and complete, and I intend to be legally bound by its terms.
